Can't Afford To Be Just One In A Flock:

I finally got around to sign up for the Blogforum conference next week, so I'll be going to Copenhagen Thursday and I'll stick around for a couple of days. I was planning on going to the Kings of Leon show, but it's sold out. So I'll have to make some calls and see if I can work something out. Otherwise I'll just have to do something else.

My parents gave me a digital camera this week as a graduation present, which I thought was extremely nice of them. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but from now on I'll start taking pictures at the concerts I go to and obviously I'll post them here, so look out for weird out-off-focus pictures appearing here on an irregular basis.

Are you a budding writer and maybe even a fan of Douglas Coupland? Then check out this competition, where you can win £1000 if you write the best story inspired by one of the four photos chosen by Coupland himself.

Is it irony or just sad if you dose off during Insomnia?

This is the best Duran Duran article I've read in a long time. Some of the quotes are really funny and it's always fun to hear the old Boy George/John Taylor anecdotes.

I didn't realize Nick Denton had started a porn blog. Now he's looking for people who can blog about travels and furniture, which I assume is for new weblogs for his empire. He's totally my hero.

Speaking of blogs - The Guardian has an article on music blogs, which ends like this: "But this unregulated zone [music weblogs] contains fantastic, stimulating and piercingly acute writing. Savour the moment before its protagonists have to find proper jobs". Hopefully, I can turn my work on my Danish music weblog into a paying job, so that doesn't happen to me.

Like most bloggers I've been listening to the new The Shins record like crazy and I'm so into it. But as usual I only listen sporadically to the lyrics, so after humming Santa's back at the drawing board over and over again I decided to check what the hell that meant and obviously the real lyrics say Sends us back to the drawing board (I like my version better even though it doesn't make sense with the rest of the lyrics). My other favourite line right now is ‘Stop!’ Said the puppy/When I met him at The Zebra Cross from the SFA single Golden Retriever and the reason I like it is because they pronounce it Zeb-ra instead of Zeee-bra. God is in the details you know.

I went and saw Grandaddy Monday night and it was really good. The first half of the show was a bit uneven, but when they finally played some stuff of Sophtware Slump the show really took off (for some reason they only played three songs of that record). I reviewed it for Frekvens, so it's in Danish, but you can go there and check out some pictures from the show. And you can see large versions of the ones from the article here.

Weirdest thing to happen so far this week? Bartending the Senior Citizen of the Year Award thing yesterday. I only have five working days left and then I'll be a free man. Broke, but free nonetheless.
