I Guess We'll Just Have To Adjust:
I'm not dead - I just smell that way. So being deceased is not the reason I've been neglecting both this site and Frekvens lately. Actually, there are a couple of reasons for my absense, but the main one is that I'm currently working at the largest Danish music magazine and that has kept my days pretty full. "So is this a permant gig?", I hear you ask and for now I have to say no. I'll be working there all of January as an intern and have so far been doing interviews, writing reviews, writing bios, and coming up with ideas for how they can make their website better. So far it's been really great and one highlight was getting to review "Funeral" by The Arcade Fire. I know this album has been out for a while everywhere else. But it's not even released yet here, so it was cool for me to be able to be the one plugging sone a high profile and exciting release. Also, I've been booked for another DJ gig at Voxhall and I'm contemplating a trip to Copenhagen in February, so things are going very well right now. And as for my New Year's resolutions I haven't broken a single one yet and this year I actually made quite a few. And I'm still very excited about the upcoming Evan Dando show and I'm looking forward to seeing The Raveonettes again, so there's some good stuff to look forward to. Yeah, it's pretty much a dream come true. Unfortunately, I only have a week left down there and then we'll have to see what happens. But so far it's been a really cool experience just showing up at work, writing, listening to music, discussing music, talking about web design and the layout for the new issue of Gaffa and so on. Posted by: John Fogde on January 23, 2005 10:46 AMbtw, are you gonna be in Copenhagen as a DJ (that would be cool) or just visiting and checking out concerts? Posted by: Jacob on January 23, 2005 11:48 AMTwo of my friends have been booked to DJ at Stengade 30, so I'll just be going to lend support. I don't think there are any concerts I want to see although I might have to check up on The Frames as they're playing on the 17. at Loppen. What, you're being paid to review great music, no one else have even heard about yet AND get your name in print? Lucky bastard :-)
