In The Blizzard Of '77:
Sometime mother nature can be a real bitch! I got up at 4:30 today, so I could be at the airport in time for my 7:15 flight to Oslo only to find out that all flights out of Aarhus were cancelled. We've had a major blizzard cover the country in snow this weekend, so public transport has collapsed as per usual. So instead of jetting off to the Norwegian capitol for lunch and an interview with Athlete I sat around the airport for about two hours and then went back home. Thankfully, I got a hold of the Norwegian press people when I got home, so I was able to conduct the interview over the phone. I chatted with Tim Athlete for about twenty minutes about the new album and their upcoming tour ("When it comes to Roskilde, we're keen - not the band") and it went very well, so look out for that in the next issue of Gaffa. Tonight, I'm going down to see the Evan Dando show. I've probably mentioned this ten times already, but I'm really excited about it. I think he's great and the solo record is his best work ever, so I can't wait to hear the tracks live. Other than that it's just work, work, work especially since I couldn't go anywhere Saturday night. But I don't mind the work at all. Tomorrow, I'll be interviewing Thirteen Senses and doing some other stuff as well and it is - as the say in the US - all good. Posted by John Fogde at February 14, 2005 06:07 PMAbsolutely - I'm right now trying to figure out the setlist. But in a bit I'll pop over and write a little about the show and tomorrow there should be pictures from the show available at Frekvens.dk Posted by: John Fogde on February 14, 2005 11:55 PMThat would be so cool. Thank you so much. We'll hopefully be doing a review and taking some photos when we're there next week, so I'll keep you posted too. Lizzie Posted by: Lizzie London on February 15, 2005 12:00 AMLove the photos - can't wait to see if there are more where they came from. Nice work! Posted by: lutewhine on February 15, 2005 01:04 AMThanks for that, John. You are a star! And you've made a lot of people very happy :-)) Lizzie Posted by: Lizzie London on February 15, 2005 01:47 AMYou're welcome! And like I mentioned in the forum my friend Jan Chrillesen took the photos and I'll let you know if/when he creates a full gallery of shots from the show. Hi - any chance you could pop over to the Forum on my website - http://www.lizzielondon.co.uk/Forum/ - and let the folks know how the Evan show was tonight? We are flying over from the UK to see his Stockholm and Uppsala shows next week, so it would be good to know how he's doing. And those that can't get to see him this tour would really appreciate a mini-review and/or photos :-))
Cheers
Lizzie
