I Predict A Riot:

It's road trip time tomorrow as we head to the capitol to see the Kaiser Chiefs. I expect we'll hit the town after the show (maybe not as hard as last time) and hopefully I'll have a chance to hook up with some familiar faces while in town. Besides being a pretty cool thing to do in the middle of the week the concert is also a very nice way of kickstarting a week of excellent adventures.

As soon as we've recovered from Wednesday night I have to head back home as I've got tickets to see Lou Reed Thursday night, which I've been looking forward to for about six months. Unfortunately, I found some of the setlists from this tour online and they are a bit underwhelming. But it should be fun to see him again nonetheless. Then it's straight home to pack as I'm leaving for London Friday morning.

I'm scheduled to interview Maximo Park Friday afternoon and later that day I'll probably go see the instore signing and then we're going to their show Friday night. I'm really looking forward to the concert as I've listened to the record a lot over the last months. If you haven't heard it yet do yourself a favour and check out Apply Some Pressure. It is without a doubt one of the best singles I've heard in a long time.
I haven't really planned anything else for my London-trip, but I expect I'll spend the following two days shopping my brains out.

Speaking of music the last record to make a huge impression on me has been "Neon Golden" by The Notwist. It was recommended to me by the guys in Figurines and for that I'll be eternally grateful. I picked it up a few weeks ago and have listened to it at least twice a day since then. I even brought it along to the office and now everyone there absolutely loves it as well. Imagine going to work in a place where your boss keeps cranking the stereo, because he's going nuts over the song One with the Freaks. Sure makes the day go by faster.

I mentioned last time I'd been interviewed for a weblog article, which actually showed up in a number of newspapers. That lead to me being interviewed by woman's magazine Femina, which was a little odd as I consider it the type of magazine my mother would buy. Honestly, I've reached a point where I don't feel like I have anything intelligent to say about weblogs anymore, so I think I'll have to stop doing interviews and lectures.

The Nightfilm festival was on a few weeks ago and for once I didn't really see that many movies. I saw "Napoleon Dynamite", which I thought was really funny and "The Woodsman", which was both grim and good. And then I saw "I ♥ Huckabees", which I found very disappointing. It didn't help that before the movie started some genius behind me went on off a Joe Cabot-style rant, where he went over the title of the movie several times (I... heart... Huckabees??? I heart??? Huckabees) before finally stating that he didn't get it. And to my left some other genius was making gay-jokes about the Danish movie "Adam's Apples", so that sucked. But generally I just thought the movie was a rip-off of Charlie Kaufman's style and as Moe Syzlak would say it was just weird for the sake of weird.

So what will the future bring? Well, I'm still getting quite a few writing assignments, so that's cool. Also, the Spot Festival is coming up and a little later we have the Roskilde Festival. Roskilde, of course, is a chance to see Bloc Party, Interpol, Bright Eyes, Sonic Youth, and the most important band of all time - Duran Duran! So I'm really looking forward to that and once again it looks like I'll be able to work at the festival in some way, so that makes it even more enjoyable. The same week Aimee Mann is playing in Copenhagen, so I have to figure out if I'll go to that and stay the week or go back and forth. Because I'm definitely going to her show.
Obviously, I have more stuff in the hopper, but some of it is still on an idea basis, so I'll have to let you know later if some of it takes off.
