I Guess We'll Just Have To Adjust:

I'm not dead - I just smell that way. So being deceased is not the reason I've been neglecting both this site and Frekvens lately. Actually, there are a couple of reasons for my absense, but the main one is that I'm currently working at the largest Danish music magazine and that has kept my days pretty full. "So is this a permant gig?", I hear you ask and for now I have to say no.

I'll be working there all of January as an intern and have so far been doing interviews, writing reviews, writing bios, and coming up with ideas for how they can make their website better. So far it's been really great and one highlight was getting to review "Funeral" by The Arcade Fire. I know this album has been out for a while everywhere else. But it's not even released yet here, so it was cool for me to be able to be the one plugging sone a high profile and exciting release.
I've got some other stuff lined up for my last week at Gaffa, but the highlight will probably be interviewing Bloc Party, whose brilliant debut album I'm listening to right now. The band is seriously hot stuff right now, so the interview is sure to make it to the print edition of the magazine (a lot of the stuff I've written has been web only), which means it'll be read by thousands. That's pretty exciting.
It's quite a change for me suddenly getting up early and working a full day in an office, but I'm really enjoying myself. The atmosphere there is really cool and getting to write about music every day is an absolute dream come true.

Also, I've been booked for another DJ gig at Voxhall and I'm contemplating a trip to Copenhagen in February, so things are going very well right now. And as for my New Year's resolutions I haven't broken a single one yet and this year I actually made quite a few. And I'm still very excited about the upcoming Evan Dando show and I'm looking forward to seeing The Raveonettes again, so there's some good stuff to look forward to.
I guess that's it for now, but I'll try to check in a bit more often. And if you have your own weblog you might want to check out this entry. That's the best blogger-related news I've seen in a long time and obviously I made sure the plugin was installed promptly.
