Relax, Don't Think About The Way I Treat You:

It's pretty Alanis that even though I've turned into one of the least prolific bloggers in this country I still get asked to give lectures and comments for interviews on weblogs. In the last couple of weeks I've held yet another lecture at the School of Journalism and been interviewed for an article, which might turn up in local papers one of these days. Maybe I should stop doing stuff like that.

As I've mentioned in the few entries I have managed to create this year I've been very busy lately. And although things might slow down a little now I still have quite a few projects in the hopper. In the immediate future I'm excited about the April issue of Gaffa, which is coming out soon. In it I have a two-page article on Danish band Figurines, which I personally think came out really great. There's also my interview with Wim from The Arcade Fire and some other stuff, but the Figurines article is the thing I'm the most excited about. They'll be playing here on the 23rd of April and I've managed to land the DJ gig for that show, so I expect it to be a fun night.

This month we also welcome Feist, Karate, Finn Brothers, and Son Volt to our fair city and chances are I'll be in attendance for most of those shows. Nothing has been planned yet, but showing up at those shows just sounds like the kinda thing I'd do. Also, the annual Nightfilm Festival is hitting this backwater town in a few weeks, so that's something to look forward to. I haven't really looked at the programme yet, but going to see Napoleon Dynamite seems like a no-brainer.

Like I said there are things in the hopper and one of them is a trip to London in May. I'll be going over to see Maximo Park perform and interview them and the plan is to stick around for a few days afterwards. I'm not really sure what else I'll be doing besides going to the show, but I'm sure I'll be able to work something out. If nothing else I can always shop for Doc Martens and CDs, which is pretty much heaven to me anyway.

In case you're wondering what I've been listening to lately I can recommend Figurines, Maximo Park, Kaiser Chiefs, Ambulance Ltd., and The Futureheads. I was a little disappointed by the new Brendan Benson album, but it's not bad. Also, I finally got my hands on the The Bens EP, which has two incredible songs on it. There are new records on the way from Ben Folds and Eels, which ought to be amazing and I'll probably pick up the new Queens of the Stone Age record this week.

I think that's it for now. It's a little weird writing monthly entries like this, so I think I need to start writing on a more regular basis, so this doesn't resemble letters so much and starts feeling more like blog entries again. And since there are no links in this entry I'll end with linking to the most fascinating weblog I've seen in a long time.
